Sinopé Technologies, Canada’s largest smart home devices manufacturer for the residential and multi-residential sectors, was awarded gold at the 17th edition of the Grands Prix du Design for its Smart Adaptive Phase Dimmer (DM2550ZB) in the Industrial Design category: Media, Consumer Electronics & Digital.

The Smart Adaptive Phase Dimmer is the first of its kind where the phase (advance or reverse) is selected after installation from an application, which responds to a common challenge experienced by installers of this type of product.

This way of modulating the phase greatly simplifies the installation process. It allows precise adjustment of lighting performance, whether dimmable LEDs, incandescent or halogen bulbs and low-voltage electronic transformers (ELV).

Sinopé Technologies’ Smart Adaptive Phase Dimmer was also evaluated on its numerous smart features and remote control capabilities as outlined on the contest’s INT Design platform.

Thanks to its reverse phase and MOSFET switching, the Sinopé Smart Adaptive Phase Dimmer eliminates light flickering and sizzling noises, and widens the dimming range.

During the contest evaluation process, an international jury composed of designers, architects, professors, entrepreneurs, journalists, and seasoned editors evaluated the excellence of each presented product and project.

Products and projects that have received gold are automatically eligible for the Platinum Prize, Grand Prize, International Grand Prize and Prize of the Year, which will be awarded during gala evenings held in Quebec City in September (for architecture, construction, landscaping and art categories) and in Montreal in October (for interior design, products and brand design).
