Our office will be closed from December 25th to January 2nd, 2025, inclusively.

Alex and Fanny are renovating! They took possession of their new home a few months ago, and as most new owners do, they are transforming the space to suit their tastes.

Their challenge? Carry out renovations using 100% (or almost!) Quebec products. Among their selection of favourite manufacturers are Ouellet Canada and, of course, Sinopé Technologies!

Alex, the renovator and Fanny, his partner

Renowned YouTuber Alex Gravel has worked in the construction industry for over ten years and hosts Les Rénos d'Alex channel, where he shares his tips and life hacks about renovations. Fanny, his better half, is leading this great project head-on with him.

In their next video season, which is currently in production, they're flipping a 1970's home located on Montreal South Shore into a cozy and modern one.

We went over to meet them to find out more about their project and why they chose Sinopé.

Sinopé: What were your motivations for choosing Sinopé devices?

Alex: Your products were recommended to us by an influential construction contractor who already uses them. In short, he has installed the Sedna Water Damage Protection System in each of the 32 apartments in the building he owns.

Thanks to this system, he avoided four water damage incidents in the last year and a half.

Sinopé: And you, personally, what are you expecting from Sinopé devices?

Alex: We're not gadget people. But we're aware of our energy consumption. We both have an electric car. We also like the idea of being able to control and protect our home when we're away. We're also looking forward to seeing our energy consumption and generating savings.

Fanny: We also love organizing get-togethers and dinners with friends and family. For us, the perfect mood is essential. Being able to control everything from our phone, quickly and without getting up during dinner, is a real plus.

Les Rénos d'Alex YouTube channel will present their renovation project in a new series of episodes this fall.

[Editor's note: Alex and Fanny use the following Sinopé products: Sedna5 Smart Water Damage Protection Kit to which they added a smart water leak detector with remote sensor, a perimeter cable, and a flow sensor. They also have the Smart Low Voltage Heating Thermostat to control their floor heating in addition to smart dimmers.]
