Sinopé Technologies , the largest manufacturer in Quebec specializing in smart devices, is participating in a collective project with Hydro-Québec to help its customers make better energy consumption. Its most energy-efficient thermostats are eligible for financial assistance in the form of a bonus of up to $700, which also applies to previous purchases of compatible devices. This initiative aims to allow our equipment owners to participate in the Hilo consumption challenges and reduce their consumption during winter peaks while receiving cash rewards from Hydro-Québec.
Sinopé smart thermostats all comply with the highest energy efficiency standards and offer superior quality of control and comfort. For nearly 15 years, the Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu company has specialized in designing energy-efficient smart devices for controlling heating, lighting and electrical loads. It has hundreds of thousands of smart thermostats in North America. Having won numerous awards from prestigious organizations, including the Consortium for Energy Efficiency and the IoT Breakthrough Awards Program, Sinopé smart thermostats are already receiving financial assistance from more than 30 Canadian and American electricity suppliers, including BC Hydro in British Columbia, Puget Sound Energy in Washington State and National Grid in Massachusetts.
"Optimizing energy consumption has been at the heart of our mission since our beginnings. With the opening of the Hilo service, we are now offering our customers a new opportunity to participate in a major collective project. Ultimately, all Sinopé energy efficient devices will be able to participate in Hilo events, by automating and optimizing their operation," says Maxime Labonté, Head of Commercial Operations at Sinopé Technologies.
Sinopé's smart thermostats are more efficient than traditional thermostats since they allow great savings on the annual electricity bill, in addition to the rewards linked to the challenges during winter peaks and the cash rewards according to the participation. The thermostats can be controlled remotely, they can adapt to the lifestyle of the owners while facilitating their daily life and avoid energy waste.
"It is a pleasure to collaborate with Sinopé in this major collective project aimed at helping our customers optimize their energy consumption. For Hydro-Québec, the opening of the Hilo ecosystem will allow thousands of Sinopé customers to improve their daily energy management. They will be able to benefit from reduced-price devices allowing them to improve their comfort while maximizing their savings, with ease," says Sabrina Harbec, Director, Energy Efficiency, Power Management and Offer Design at Hydro-Québec.
This offer is for Hydro-Québec customers and applies to all owners of compatible Sinopé thermostats or anyone wishing to purchase one. To receive the bonus, customers must subscribe to Hydro-Québec's Hilo smart home service by ordering their gateway for free on the Hilo website, connect their compatible devices to the Hilo app and participate in consumption reduction challenges during the winter period.
Compatible devices and additional bonuses
Floor heating thermostats, electric baseboard thermostats and low voltage thermostats are eligible for the bonus. These devices can be purchased directly from the manufacturer at www.sinopetech.com , at one of its many retailers or through an electrical contractor. Customers with other Sinopé products will be notified when they become eligible for the bonuses and will allow them to participate in Hilo's automated consumption reduction challenges.
