Participate with your smart devices and earn rewards.

If you have installed eligible Sinopé thermostats in your home, don’t miss this opportunity! Efficiency Nova Scotia, in partnership with Nova Scotia Power, invites customers to join the Eco Shift program, contributing to optimized energy use and a transition to a clean energy future.

How the program works

In winter, residents heat their homes and use their appliances simultaneously, leading to energy consumption peaks and electrical overload. To address this, Efficiency Nova Scotia has launched Eco Shift, a program to encourage the adoption of smart technology for better energy distribution and to relieve the grid.

In collaboration with Eco Sinopé and Sinopé smart thermostats, this program automatically reduces energy demand during peak events, allowing participants to earn rewards for their valuable contribution.

What to expect during a peak event

  • Sign up for the program via the Neviweb app and select your profile. Based on your choices, we will remotely adjust the setpoint of your Sinopé devices during peak events.
  • Events may occur on weekdays from 7 AM to 11 AM or from 5 PM to 9 PM between December 1 and February 28/29.
  • The duration of events will vary, ranging from a minimum of one hour to a maximum of four hours.
  • Before a peak event, you will receive an email, get a notification via SMS and in the Neviweb app about the upcoming event. During an event, the thermostat screen and the Neviweb app will display the “eco” logo, indicating that the device is actively participating.
  • You maintain control of your devices and can opt out of an individual event at any time by manually adjusting your thermostats during the event.

How about a rebate on your next purchase of thermostats offered by your power utility?
